  1. VIDEO RECORDING USING LOOM.COM


  • Loom is a cloud-based video making software

  • Navigate to the website www.loom.com (Free Licence)

  • Register on the site and login

  • GoTo New Video – Window drop down

  • You can do 

    • Video Editing

    • Video Recording

    • Video Streaming

  • Loom provides three options

    • Screen+Cam

    • Screen Only

    • Cam only

  • Make sure that, other tools are not accessing your cam

  • Adjust the position of webcam

  • Make it as right-top corner for better visibility

  • Click start recording

    • Entire screen

    • Application window

  • Click share

  • After 3 seconds the record will gets started

  • Press ESC to pause the recording

  • After recording completed click stop sharing

  • You will get a link to share

  • Copy and share link to public

    • Invite people

    • Add password

  • Also, you can edit your recorded video using “Edit your video” option

  • More options;

    • Download

    • Duplicate

    • Delete

    • Forward

  • You can create folders to store the video

  • Also, you can get the loom in your browser for quick access

  • Format factory (You can change the format of video from one format to other format)

  • MIRO

  • Loom (For making instant screen recording)

  • Snipping Tool (For taking snap of particular part of the screen)

  • PhotoRazor (For Photo compression)

  • HandBrake (For video format conversion)



  1. YOUTUBE CHANNEL CREATION 


  • Achieve using one click

  • It is Free of Cost

  • Open your Gmail

  • Go to right top corner

  • Click google apps (dotted icon)

  • Click over YouTube icon

  • Your channel is ready now



  1. YOUTUBE VIDEO UPLOADING


  • Go to right-top corner in the YouTube page

  • Click over “Create” button (Cam icon)

  • You will get two options

    • Upload Video

    • Go live (For live streaming your videos)

  • Click “Upload video” to publish the existing video from your laptop

  • It will redirect to https://studio.youtube.com/

  • Click on “Select Files”

  • Select your videos to upload

  • Give the title for the video

  • Give detail information and reference links in the “Description”

  • You can select your own thumbnail for the cover page of the video

  • If you have many videos for different subjects, then you can use “Playlist” to create separate folders

  • Set the Audience (make sure it is not for kids)

  • In the “Tag” Give effective keywords to make your video easily searchable for the students

  • Select recording date and location (VIT Chennai)

  • If needed, you can add title card and end card using “Video element” option

  • Finally, in the “Visibility” option you can choose the mode of publishing

    • Private [You and your permitted students can watch]

    • Unlisted [Anyone can view using the given link]

    • Public [Everyone can watch]

  • Publish the video by click the “Publish” button

  • You can share your videos in the social media using the option provided after publishing.


Note: It not mandatory to publish the videos in YouTube, instead you can publish it in MeLite in VIT



  1. VIDEO MAKING USING OBS


  • OBS is an open source video making software 

  • It’s a high-end studio based software for video editing

  • Navigate to www.obsproject.com

  • Download the exe file based on your OS compatibility

  • You can do noise reduction, logo adding, video filtering using OBS

  • Once your video is ready using Loom (Also, you can directly record using OBS), you can import It to OBS software to make editing the video in OBS

  • Keep in mind that, if the video length is long, then the rendering will be high, so make the video short and informative

  • Try to use Microsoft external camera for getting HD Quality

  • Other Cams:

    • Go pro

    • SNR Cam

  1. VIDEO CONVERT USING HANDBRAKE


  • Open source tool for converting a video from one format to other format

  • Navigate to www.handbrake.fr

  • Download the exe file and install

  • Make sure the common file format that everyone can open using traditional video player while uploading the video in YouTube or MeLite



  1.  IMAGE COMPRESS USING PHOTORAZOR 


  • Open source tool for compress the photos

  • Navigate to https://photorazor.en.softonic.com/

  • Download the exe file and install

  • This will extensively use while you are trying to upload DSLR images



  1.  IMAGE CAPTURE USING SNIPPING TOOL 




  1.  GOOD PRACTICE TO SOURCE AN IMAGE FROM THE WEBSITE


  • While using an image or content from a random website, include the date and time stamp in the sourcing. 

  • This will help us to make an evidence and future reference if the content or image is deleted or modified from the source website.



  1.  MAKE AN INTRODUCTION VIDEO FOR SUBJECTS


  • Make an introduction video of your teaching subjects

  • Introduction video should be short (10 to 15 Mints) and narrative 

  • Because in VIT, students will go through the introduction video before to choose the faculty

  • Give detail information and reference links in the video “Description”



  1.  NEED FOR TEACHERS APART FROM GOOGLE


    • Google can give you Information

    • But, Google can’t give you Transformation, Teachers will do.


  1.  RTC MODEL


  • Efficient framework for every teacher:

    • Researching

    • Teaching

    • Consulting

  • Even though Teaching is mandatory for Teachers, try to be contribute on Research and Consultancy, which will make your job very effective and satisfactory.

  • Try to focus on publishing at least one journal paper in the WoS free journal with high impact factor by focusing on Research.
